Protecting Your Home Against Storm Season

Welcome to beautiful Queensland, beautiful one moment then storming the next! Summer is our favourite time of the year, but we should also be thinking about storm preparation. The hot, humid weather often brings with it tumultuous storms, damaging winds, heavy rain and hailstones.

With this extreme weather comes the very real possibility of roof leaks, drain blockages and flooding. Whilst we cannot control the weather we can prepare for it and storm ready our home.
Making sure gutters are kept clean of leaves and debris and installing gutter guards in heavily treed areas can reduce the likelihood of running into trouble. Gutterguard can also potentially reduce the frequency your gutters need to be cleaned from once every 6 weeks to once every few years. Give us a call if you are interested in installing a Gutterguard.

Here are a few tips to prevent small problems becoming large ones during heavy rain and storm events:

  • Keep an eye on internal ceilings for any discolouration or leaking.

  • Check the gutters aren’t overflowing or leaking.

  • Check all downpipes to see that water isn’t spurting out from the bottom or top of the pipe. The perfectly designed stormwater system should carry away all water from the roof and ground, remove it from the property and deposit it into the stormwater drain.

If you notice any signs of trouble or would like a gutter inspection please call us as soon as possible. Our gutter cleaning starts from only $140 for a standard size home!
